ABOUT THE BANDS
PREZIDENT BROWN
Prezident Brown (Fitz Cotterell) was born in the hills of Clarendon, Jamaica. His fans will tell you the positive energy they feel when listening to his music, prerecorded or live are equal to those of positive words of encouragement, and the reason they eagerly await his next song or performance.
Prezident Brown has been very well received in the United States and is building a large fan base, and as a champion of the new roots and reality consciousness reggae movement he entertains, informs and inspires. His message is pure rasta conscious vibes.
REGGAE ANGELS
Currently based in Oakland, CA, the Reggae Angels have been performing for three decades in North America, South America, Europe, Africa, Hawaii, and Canada. They are well known and appreciated in the US and abroad. They have toured with many international reggae artists such as Don Carlos, Sly and Robbie and the Taxi Gang, Bitty Mclean, Anthony B, Richie Spice, Mykal Rose, Luciano, The Abyssinians, Clinton Fearon, Sugar Minott, Andrew Tosh, Prezident Brown, Junior Reid and Frankie Paul as well as touring on their own.
The lead vocalist is Peter “Fenton” Wardle.
The Reggae Angels deliver serious high-energy performances with a happy, uplifting sound and a universal God-conscious message. All different ages and kinds of people love and appreciate the Reggae Angels, especially the spiritually inclined. Their focus is on spreading the message of the prophets with parables and reminders towards knowing and loving the Creator and living in love and harmony with the people and the creation around us.
BRADY SHAMMAR
Brady Shammar is an Afro-centric singer, songwriter, producer and arranger from Kingston, Jamaica. She is no stranger to the business. She has graced the stage with the likes of Max Romeo, the Original Wailers, Toots and the Maytals and others. She has performed all over the world. Her style is unique and demands the attention of her listeners. She is creative, assertive and outside of the box.
Brady has done extensive recording work with many top producers. She is unusually talented at vocal arrangement and execution. She knows what she wants. She graced a lot of hit songs and reggae albums. She has worked with the likes of Clive Hunt, Lee Scratch Perry, Kenny Chesney and Pierpoljak on his double platinum album Kingston Karma. She sang on I Wayne’s hit album Lava Ground and she also did the Hard Times Riddim and was featured on the hit song with Bascom X called Lonely Girl.
Brady has done many tours all over the world and she has performed on many major festivals. In the US she performed on the One Love One Heart Festival in Sacramento, CA, Reggae on the River in Humboldt, CA and the Sierra Nevada World Music Festival in Mendocino, CA. The reception was ecstatic.
B-SIDE PLAYERS
The B-Side Players are a 9-piece band part of a new movement in popular music. A band that honors the international cross-pollination that has always made music the universal language. They use any beat that catches their ear, regardless of geography or genre, to create a compelling, horn driven, polyrhythmic groove. They continue exploring the multifaceted grooves of Latin America and the Caribbean, incorporating the sounds of Cuba, Jamaica, Mexico and Brazil with the funk, rock, jazz and hip-hop rhythms of their homeland, dropping bits of Cumbia, Salsa, gritty street Samba, Son Montuno, Jarocho and Boogalo into the mix.
The B*Side Players have been laying down their own inimitable latin global funk since they came together in 1994. Their incendiary live shows have defined them as local favorites with 10 San Diego Music awards. Meanwhile their albums showcase a band with restless musical intelligence, effortlessly blending genres to fashion their own forward looking, latin flavored soul music. As an eight piece band the players are known for igniting crowds with their fierce rhythms and uplifting message of unity and consciousness. Meanwhile always keeping their focus on the political climate of the world and nation. The B-Side Players are a living and breathing cultural art experience for the mind body and soul.
